The State Budget Prints a Surplus of IDR 234.7 Trillion in April 2023

The Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani together with the Ministry of Finance held a press conference on the KiTA State Budget for the February 2023 period in Jakarta, Tuesday (14/3/2023).

Armfalcon.com, JAKARTA — The government revealed that the performance of the state revenue and expenditure budget in April 2023 experienced a surplus. The state budget as of April 2023 recorded a surplus of IDR 234.7 trillion or 1.12 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP).


Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani said the main surplus came from state revenue of IDR 1,000.5 trillion or covered 46 percent of the state revenue and expenditure budget. State revenue was recorded at 17.3 percent as of April 2023.


“The state budget position until April experienced a surplus of IDR 234.7 trillion or 1.12 percent of GDP,” he said during the KiTA APBN press conference, Monday (22/5/2023).


According to him, state revenue has increased 17.3 percent compared to the same period last year or 40.6 percent of this year’s target.


“The primary balance is a surplus of IDR 374.3 trillion. So the first four months we have a surplus from the primary balance and overall balance us,” he said.


Meanwhile, state spending as of April 2023 amounted to IDR 765.8 trillion or 25 percent of the spending target in the 2023 state revenue and expenditure budget. Meanwhile, state expenditure realization rose two percent from the achievements in the same period last year.
