Jakarta (Armfalcon.com) – Indonesian Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani met US Finance Minister Janet Yellen to discuss the possibility of cooperation between donor agencies belonging to each country.
The donor agency is the Fund for International Development Cooperation (Indonesian Agency for International Development) and the United States Institute for International Development (United States Agency for International Development).
“Through this collaboration, both Indonesia and the United States can have more capabilities in helping other countries in need,” said Sri Mulyani in an official statement in Jakarta, Friday.
Apart from discussing this collaboration, Sri Mulyani and Yellen discussed several important and relevant topics at the moment, starting from global economic conditions, current issues around minerals, Financial Action Task Force (FATF), Pandemic Fund, as well as G20 Joint Finance and Health Task Force (JFHTF).
According to Sri Mulyani, the talks were very constructive and collaborative. At the end of the discussion, the two Ministers of Finance agreed that cooperation between the two countries was a must to face various challenges in the future.
Sri Mulyani’s meeting with the US Finance Minister was held in Niigata City, Japan, Thursday (11/5/2023). This meeting was held before Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani attended a series of agendas G7 Dialogue Partners on this Friday.
The G7 meeting is an international forum consisting of developed countries, namely the United States, Germany, Italy, Japan, Canada, Britain and France.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Minister of Finance was invited to provide views as a developing country regarding the macroeconomic situation after the COVID-19 pandemic in facing the challenges of the world situation, global or multilateral cooperation, and crises in various developing countries.
