Ministry of Finance Disburses IDR 31.79 Billion for the Development of Seba Port in NTT

Armfalcon.com, KUPANG — The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) has disbursed a budget of IDR 31.79 billion for the development of Seba Port to increase access to sea transportation in Sabu Raijua Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, in 2023.

“The Seba Port repair budget with a project contract value of IDR 31.79 billion has begun to be disbursed in stages,” said the Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury of the NTT Province of the Ministry of Finance Catur Ariyanto Widodo in Kupang, Tuesday (2/5/2023).

He said this was related to the performance of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) to support the development of marine infrastructure in NTT in 2023. Catur said that the distribution of the APBN for the rehabilitation of Seba Port in the first quarter was 20 percent of the project contract value.

He said the construction of the port would later provide strategic benefits such as supporting or increasing operational activities at the port such as the distribution of goods needed by the community. Besides that, it supports the transportation of sea transportation passengers to and from the Sabu Raijua Regency area.

“Access for goods and people by sea will be smoother so that it is expected to encourage economic growth in Sabu Raijua,” he said.

Furthermore, Catur said, the construction of the Seba Port which is part of a national strategic project proves the role of the State Budget as a lever for regional economic growth. Therefore, he said, to ensure the smooth running of this multi-year project, it is necessary to support various elements of the community to oversee the implementation of the state budget.

“Every value from the APBN that is disbursed is shared property, so it needs to be guarded together to ensure that the results can provide optimal benefits for people’s welfare,” he said.
