Jakarta (Armfalcon.com) – PT Bank KB Bukopin Tbk and PT Indika Energy are collaborating in developing the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia, where KB Bukopin will provide funding support to Indika Energy.
“We are pleased to announce our partnership with Indika Energy, which demonstrates KB Bukopin’s commitment to supporting Indonesia’s transition towards sustainable transportation and the ESG commitment of our controlling shareholder, namely KB Kookmin Bank,” said KB Bukopin’s Main Director Woo Yeul Lee in a KB press release. Woo Yeul Lee explained that the collaboration would enable him to leverage financial expertise to support the electric vehicle ecosystem and drive a greener future for Indonesia.
KB Kookmin Bank, which has experience and expertise in ESG financing, he said, provided full support for KB Bukopin in providing financing with easy and fast access so as to encourage the adoption of environmentally friendly vehicles.
Meanwhile, Indika Energy’s Vice President and Group CEO Azis Armand said the partnership with KB Bukopin would enable him to enhance the electric vehicle ecosystem to accelerate the transition to sustainable transportation in Indonesia.
According to him, his party believed that the collaboration would contribute to Indonesia’s future as an effort to reduce its carbon footprint and support its economic development.
He said credit financing from banks could provide a significant boost to the electric vehicle industry. With easier access to financing, electric vehicle manufacturers can increase production and sales.
This, he said, leads to sustainable growth of electric vehicles, driving technological innovation and creating new jobs in the sector.
KB Bukopin’s collaboration with Indika Energy is contained in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The goal is to support Indonesia in pushing for sustainable transport and to further enhance the country’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint through ESG Finance.
The signing of the MoU was witnessed by, among others, Hendro Sugiatno, Director General of Land Transportation; Munjirin, Mayor of South Jakarta; Arsjad Rasjid, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and Main Director of Indika Energy; Azis Armand, Vice President Director and Group CEO of Indika Energy; Woo Yeul Lee, President Director of KB Bukopin; Lies Permana Sari, Director of Services & Development of PT Transportasi Jakarta.
This important event took place at the K-Finance Week Forum, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of relations between Indonesia and South Korea.
