IKN Authority Employees Have Not Received Monthly Salaries

Head of State Capital Authority (IKN) Archipelago Bambang Susantono vent echelon I officials and below who work in the IKN Authority have not received wages for months.

His party is still waiting for a Presidential Regulation (Perpres) regarding financial rights and other facilities for echelon I and below.

“We have to be honest in saying that we are still waiting for the Presidential Decree on the financial rights of echelon I and its derivatives at this time,” said Bambang during a hearing (RDP) meeting with Commission II of the DPR quoted Second FinanceMonday (3/4).

On that occasion, he said that he and Deputy Head of the IKN Authority Dhony Rahajoe had also just received a salary after 11 months of work. This was after the issuance of Presidential Decree Number 13 of 2023 concerning Financial Rights and Other Facilities for Heads and Deputy Heads of the IKN Authority on January 30, 2023.

As for the salaries of echelon I officials and below, said Bambang, currently this matter has been discussed by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD and is being proposed to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

He also appreciated his subordinates who continued to work even though they had not been paid.

“My friends are tough. So, yes, that is the condition and they are still working enthusiastically, but of course we are also taking steps so that this can be accelerated,” he said.

Even so, Bambang said the unpaid wages did not include workers in the field.

“Already (for field workers),” he said when confirmed separately.

Previously, DPR Commission II member Ihsan Yunus revealed that there were workers at IKN who had not been paid for months. He also asked that workers’ rights be paid immediately.

“Especially during the fasting month like this, I want no payday for Eid, we are wrongful sir, we are wrongful sir. So please confirm whether it is true that there are those who have not been paid monthly for 3 months, 4 months, 5 months, 6 months, if you haven’t paid immediately while it’s Ramadan again ,” said Ihsan.
