Jakarta, Armfalcon.com – The price of gold bars at PT Pegadaian Compact rose sharply in today’s trading, Friday (28/4/2023) amid the fluctuating world gold prices.
Quoting data Refinitiv, at the close of trading Thursday (27/4/2023), gold closed at US$1,987.87 per troy ounce. The price of the precious metal weakened 0.08%.
Gold weakened as the United States (US) dollar returned to strength. The dollar index closed at 101.50 yesterday, from 101.47 the previous day.
The US dollar strengthened as market participants increasingly believed the US central bank The Federal Reserve (The Fed) would raise interest rates by 25 bps next week. The odds are now at 87%. The Fed will announce policy next week.
The world gold price actually affects the movement of Pegadaian’s gold, but the strong rupiah exchange rate makes Pegadaian’s gold tend to stagnate.
Pegadaian itself sells various types of gold, namely Antam gold, Antam Retro, Antam Batik, and UBS. Various sizes are sold, ranging from 0.5 grams to 1,000 grams.
In today’s trading, the price of 1 gram of Antam’s gold is priced at IDR 1,104,000. The price has increased by IDR 8,000 compared to yesterday which was recorded at IDR 1,096,000. This is the first time that Antam’s gold has gone up after being stagnant the previous week.
The price of Antam Pegadaian gold is available from 0.5 gram to 1,000 gram in size/unit.
Meanwhile, Antam Retro gold costs Rp. 1,070,000 for 1 gram, an increase of Rp. 3,000 compared to the previous day which was recorded at Rp. 1,057,000.
Antam Retro Gold is old packaged gold where the gold coins and the certificate are separate. Antam Retro Gold was last produced in 2018, and is available from 0.5 grams to 100 grams.
Pegadaian also offers Antam Batik gold, which is the most expensive type of Antam gold. However, the price is still not displayed on the official Pegadaian website.
Finally, the price for UBS gold issued by PT Untung Bersama Sejahtera is IDR 1,064,000 per gram. The price is IDR 12,000 compared to yesterday, which was priced at IDR 1,052,000.
