At CIMB Niaga, we always prepare the most up-to-date data security, IT security. Digital management is indeed not cheap because we must always update
Jakarta (Armfalcon.com) – President Director of PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk (stock code: BNGA) Lani Darmawan said his company allocated IDR 1 trillion from capital expenditure or capital expenditures for Information Technology (IT) maintenance.
Lani said that of the total expenditure, one of the largest IT spending allocations was used to secure systems and customer data.
“At CIMB Niaga, we always prepare data security, IT security, which is up to date. Digital management is indeed not cheap because we must always update,” Lani said after the opening of the Xtra Xpo 2023 at Senayan City, Jakarta, Friday.
CIMB Niaga also did stress test periodically to see how strong the digital defense system is, including from cybercrime threats.
Banking associations and the government, according to him, are preparing regulations regarding how to deal with the situation fraud.
“The most certain thing is that it must be ready and the IT protection system must be up-to-date. I think for banks, especially managing customer data, this is the most important thing,” he said.
Meanwhile, CIMB Niaga has an application on cellphones in the form of OCTO Mobile which serves customer transactions with an amount that continues to increase by around 50 percent per year.
“This year alone, transactions on mobile, especially on OCTO Mobile, have risen above 60 percent. From year to year, the increase in transactions is very high, so investment in digital systems must always be there,” he said.
