The high price of pawn shop gold follows the world gold price which has shot up more than 2% in the past week at US$ 2,008 per troy ounce. after previously touching its highest level since August 2020.
The increase in world gold prices was triggered by expectations that the US central bank (The Fed) would cut its benchmark interest rate this year. This is because the US economy is predicted to suffer a severe decline, especially after the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB).
With the high world gold price, domestic gold prices also follow. One of them is Pawnshop gold.Pegadaian itself sells various types of gold, namely Antam gold, Antam Retro, Antam Batik, and UBS. Various sizes are sold, ranging from 0.5 grams to 1,000 grams.
According to data from Pegadaian’s official website today, the price of 1 gram of Antam’s gold priced at IDR 1,117,000 has not changed from the previous day. To note, Antam’s gold is available from 0.5 grams to 1,000 grams.
