BI Credit Card Ready to Launch, Mastercard & Visa Eliminated?

Jakarta, Armfalcon.com- Bank Indonesia (BI) is preparing to launch a Government Credit Card (KKP) that uses the National Payment Gateway (GPN) system as an alternative for domestic credit card issuers so that they are no longer dependent on foreign principals such as Visa and Mastercard.

The Executive Director of the Indonesian Credit Card Association (AKKI), Steve Marta, sees the issuance of the KKP as a positive step in maintaining the independence of managing the national payment system but will not eliminate credit card services such as Mastercard and Visa.
