Armfalcon.com, JAKARTA — The Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti) of the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) together with the Indonesian Crypto Asset Traders Association (Aspakrindo) are currently developing a new product from crypto assets called Sentra Dana Berjangka.

Head of Bappebti Didid Noordiatmoko said the new product was aimed at potential investors who want to enter crypto trading but are still afraid of the risks they will face.

“So those who are worried about risk, we are looking for a policy formulation that allows for a mix of crypto assets. We call it the Futures Fund Center, when it is ready we will chat what is a Futures Fund Center anymore,” Didid said in Jakarta, Thursday (6/4/2023).

Didid said that the creation of this product was an effort to increase transactions in crypto assets. According to him, so far there are still many crypto players who just join in because it’s a trend.

“We and Aspakrindo are making new products to make it more attractive to potential investors, especially novice and new investors risk avoiders,‘ said Didid.

Aspakrindo chairman Teguh Kurniawan Harmanda said that currently the crypto asset industry is still dominated by passive traders. Therefore, it is necessary to create products that can accommodate the needs of the players.

In addition, currently there are various types of crypto asset products in Indonesia spot trading or outright purchase/sale of assets such as commodities, stocks, bonds or crypto assets. This causes many crypto asset traders to play overseas.

“We need products. Investors tradingthem outside because they had to. The problem is he wants to trading more and Indonesia can’t provide it so the opportunity is lost, hopefully the government can move quickly,” said Harmanda.

The Bappebti report noted that the total number of crypto investors in Indonesia reached 16.99 million people as of February 2023. The value of crypto asset trading transactions in Indonesia has also increased, reaching IDR 13.8 trillion in February 2023. This number continues to increase 13.7 percent compared to January 2023 which is only IDR 12.14 trillion.
