Anies VS Ganjar, Who has the Larger Savings Account?

Jakarta, Armfalcon.com – With a wealth of IDR 11.7 billion, Ganjar Pranowo, who is officially a Presidential Candidate (Capres) in the 2024 Presidential Election, has many property assets.

It’s just that the valuation of Anies Baswedan’s property assets, who is also the presidential candidate of the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP), turns out to be higher than Ganjar.

If in terms of property, Anies’ assets are higher in value than Ganjar, how are things with saving?

Based on information in the latest State Officials Wealth Report (LHKPN), namely in 2021, the two presidential candidates have assets in the form of cash and cash equivalents. This one asset is often called a current asset like savings.

The amount of cash and cash equivalents owned by Ganjar was IDR 6.8 billion, while Anies was at IDR 1.2 billion.

If assessed from a financial planning perspective, Ganjar’s current assets are equivalent to 58% of his total wealth. Meanwhile, Anies’ current assets are only 8.1% of his total wealth.

It is clear that Ganjar has a large amount of savings. But is their current asset amount ideal? Here’s an explanation.

Ideal savings

Talking about savings in personal financial planning, savings are indeed classified into several types. There are emergency fund savings, short term savings, and so on.

The ideal amount of current assets that an individual or family should have is 15-20% of net worth, which means that it shouldn’t be too much or too little.

The smaller the value of your savings, the more difficult it will be for you to meet emergency and short-term needs, but larger savings indicate that you are less invested.

When someone saves money in an amount that is too large, the value of that money will be eroded by inflation over time.
