Astra Tol Tangerang-Merak noted that on 12-16 April 2023 there were 837,666 vehicles passing on Jalan Tangerang-Merak Toll Road on season Lebaran 2023 homecoming. This figure is down 1.27 percent compared to the volume of vehicles on Eid last year.
The daily average of vehicles for this year’s Eid reached 167,533 units. The highest traffic occurred on Friday, April 14, with 176,471 vehicles.
There were 265,428 vehicles entering the Cikupa Toll Gate (GT), followed by 62,312 vehicles leaving Merak GT.
For the Cikupa GT, the average daily passing vehicle is 53 thousand units, an increase of around 8.36 percent compared to the 2022 homecoming traffic.
Furthermore, the average number of vehicles that came out of GT Merak was 12,462 units, up 0.59 percent compared to last year’s Eid.
Then, the vehicles leaving at GT Cilegon Timur to continue their journey to Ciwandan Port via the Southern Ring Road (JLS) or other destinations totaled 64,664 units or an average of 12,934 units per day. This figure decreased by 0.16 percent compared to last year.
CSR and Public Relations Manager of Astra Tangerang-Merak Toll Road Uswatun Hasanah said that vehicles passing the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road will get a 20 percent discount, according to government policy.
“A discount of 20 percent is applied for the farthest distance, Cikupa-Merak, from April 16 2023 at 06.00 WIB to April 18 2023 at 06.00 WIB,” said Uswatun Hasanah, Monday (17/4).
He asked the public not to continue their journey if they feel tired or sleepy, and suggested resting at rest area on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road. Then, travelers can buy ferry tickets from Merak and Ciwandan Ports, one day before departure.
“There is a health post at KM 68 in the direction of Merak for road users who are tired or feel unfit,” he explained.
