Acquired by BNI, Bank Mayora Changes Name and Focuses on Working on the MSME Segment

Armfalcon.com, JAKARTA — After being acquired by PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BNI), PT Bank Mayora as a subsidiary has officially changed its name to Hibank. The name change is part of the commitment to transform digital banks in an effort to expand into the national MSME segment.

Main Director of BNI, Royke Tumilaar, said that with this transformation, it is hoped that Hibank can become a provider of digital-based integrated financial solutions, especially in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) segment.

“Certainly one surprise from U.S. With this name change, we will encourage Hibank to improve performance in the MSME segment, especially in an effort to make a positive contribution to building the country,” he said, Thursday (25/5/2023).

BNI has officially acquired PT Bank Mayora on May 18 2021 turning it into a digital bank. The appointment of new management has also been carried out and is expected to strengthen the company’s management structure.

According to Royke, Hibank’s new board of directors is currently an ideal combination because it consists of professionals and expertise coming from various backgrounds, namely consultants, startups, fintechand banking.

“Through the collaboration of the new management, Hibank is believed to be able to bring positive changes with new enthusiasm and hope in realizing the vision of a digital bank to become an MSME bank digital-first the best in Indonesia,” he said.

Royke explained, the choice of the name Hibank represents an identity that is in line with the vision and mission it carries and illustrates the character of a friendly, simple, friendly and reliable digital bank for MSMEs. In addition, the name and logo changes also emphasize the strength and experience of grants in the financial industry with the support of the BNI Group.

Main Director of Hibank Jenny Wiriyanto said Hibank would strengthen its role as an ecosystem orchestrator for MSMEs. “We will provide a variety of integrated digital solutions to help MSMEs grow higher and more sustainably,” he said.
